We are a family living on both sides of the Atlantic, Jorge and Betzy live in Florida and Jay and Cecilia live in Andalusia. As a family we have many things in common, one of them is our love for Good Healthy Food. During a trip to Andalusia Jorge and Betzy noticed the superior quality of some Olive Oils that were winning awards the world over, there and then the idea was born to bring these superior Olive Oils to the North American public- Olive and Gourmet was thus created
When we visited the manufacturers of these superior Olive Oils we noticed that it was not accidental that they won the awards: first, their olive groves are a sight to behold, located in places with optimal conditions for olive trees growth, most trees in those groves are centenary some millenarian. Second, the harvest is done early when it is most difficult to pick the olive fruits from the tree but also when the juice from these fruits has the best aroma and taste -and finally the production process is optimized to retain intact the characteristics of the fruit, making it more complex, less efficient from the extraction point of view and obviously more costly.
Spain produces close to a half of all the world´s olive oil; our Award Winning producers only produce a tiny fraction of that but they represent the pinnacle of the highest quality Olive Oils that the world has to offer. Our objective is to work with these proud producers- mainly relatively small family farms and cooperatives- to bring you home these superlative Olive Oils
